The Green Bay Packers are the new dominant force in the NFL. The won their last six games of the 2010 season which included the Super Bowl and now find themselves off to a 7-0 start with no desire to slow down. The dominance is led by their superstar of a quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. He was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2005 draft. When he first got to Green Bay he was able to sit behind one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. This man was known as Brett Favre and he viewed the challenge of following up a legend as a chance to prove he was good enough to play in the league and make a name for himself. He waited his time and learned as much about the game as he could, knowing he would be under intense pressure when he took over.
When his time came it was the 2008 season and many people were still upset because they felt that Brett Favre should have come back to be the quarterback for another season. Aaron took over and let his play do the talking. In his first season he led the Packers to a 6-10 record which had people see glimpses of greatness but many fans were unsure because that was the first time since 1992 that someone not named Brett Favre started a game at quarterback for the Packers. His second season had more of an impact in which the team went 11-5 and Rodgers was named to his first Pro-Bowl. He followed that season up with what every player tries to accomplish in his lifetime and that is a championship. I his third season he led his team to the promise land and returned the Lombardi trophy home to Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers has been able to lead his team to a championship after just three seasons which means there is much more winning in Green Bay’s future. No to mention he has successfully made people accept him and acknowledge that he was the right person to follow a legend.
